| Martha Stewart Heart Chain Edge Punch Trees |
This card seems to have a Scandinavian vibe. I lived in Minnesota for a number of years and I can spot a Scandinavian vibe when I feel one. Doncha-Know? 🙂 It is the perfect match to the color challenge at CR84FN…….
This 6x 6″ die cut kraft card is the perfect base for Holiday Red and Colonial White. There is just a pop of dark brown to help the other colors keep the spotlight. I stamped the Colonial White cardstock with CTMH’s text stamp from the Universal Backgrounds set in Holiday Red ink. Then I used the Heart Chain edge punch on 12″ long strips of the stamped cardstock and Holiday Red cardstock. These were layered upside-down on red pine tree shapes to give a bit of a 3-d effect. Some of the extra hearts were glued to the cardstock base along with a couple of larger punched hearts.

The buttons, rick rack and baker’s twine add a gingerbread-y feel to the card. I think it is festive and fun. The stars on top of the trees were cut from an Emaginations punch. The one on the right is layered onto a Spellbinder’s Flower Bouquet die and topped with a Create a Flake 1 die.

The larger buttons were tied with variegated pearl cotton (size 12) that almost mimics the baker’s twine. The trees were lifted off the card base with foam tape.
