3 Cards Using the Same Stamp and Die

Maybe it is because I am lazy but when I have a stamp already out that I like to use, I will make several projects before cleaning it and putting it away. In this case, the project is cards. And because I have a short attention span, they need to be different from each other. So, here are three cards using the same stamp and die.

This is a stamped watercolor panel with the Hero Arts Butterfly Garden stamp. I used Two-Tone Spray powder sprinkled onto the wet paper. This product is sold as a powder and you mix it with water in the spray bottle. I didn’t follow that step and used it dry. Sort of like the Ken Oliver ColorSparx or other powdered watercolors. After it was dry, I added a bit of Gold Glimmer Metallic that I got in a monthly kit a long, long time ago. The die-cut is three different papers – vellum on top, glitter card stock, and a pearlescent green on the bottom layer using the Fairy Window die.

Here is a close-up photo showing the three layers of fairy die-cuts. The sentiment is silver heat-embossed with Gold Glimmer rubbed on top of it to keep with the mixed-media aesthetic.

This bright and colorful card uses liquid watercolors over a heat-embossed background. The heat embossing helps to keep the color corraled inside the lines of the image. It also works as a kind of resist so that the watercolor can be easily wiped away. The part that took the most time was cutting tiny pieces of foam tape to pop the die-cut off the painted panel.

So many itsy-bitsy pieces of foam tape!

The fairy wings have Stardust Stickles applied after adhering the entire background/die-cut unit to a top-folding A2 card. The picture above has not been edited for exposure. These really are the colors of the liquid watercolor.

The last card is very simple. It is made up of four layers adhered on top of an A2 card base. On the bottom layer, the Butterfly Garden image is stamped and heat embossed with white. A sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with silver on the next layer, which is vellum. This is glued on top of the stamped background layer. The layers sitting atop the vellum are two die-cuts. A pink glitter cardstock die-cut is layered and off-set a little bit under a black one. The pink glitter peeking out from under the black is very pretty in person. It adds just enough sparkle to make it magical.
